Katie Hettinger is a 3rd generation driver, looking to continue to grow her racing career in 2022. Katie visited her first race track at 4 weeks old and began racing at the age of 5. Katie started her career in quarter midgets, racing locally, regionally, and nationally with the USAC.25, Midwest Thunder and QMA series. She collected over 40 feature wins in Quarter Midgets. Katie moved up to run Jr. Sprints and then 600 micro-sprints on dirt from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, Katie moved into full body stock cars on pavement with the newly formed CRA Jr. Late Model Division. Katie returned to the CRA Jr. Late models in 2020, capturing (3) fast-time awards and a new track record at Anderson Speedway. She brought home (2) feature wins at the Indianapolis Speedrome and Toldeo Speedway and in September, she was crowned the 2020 CRA Jr. Late Model Champion. Katie is CRA's first female champion in any division. For the 2021 season, Katie teamed-up with Matt Piercy Racing to run the Limited Late Model series at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina in addition to a few Late Model Stock races and a partial season with Carolina Pro Late Model Series. Katie captured Fast Time Pole award in the Limited Late Model as well as the Carolina Pro Late Model. She brought home feature wins in the NASCAR Late Model Stock division as well as the Limited Late Model division in 2021. In 2022, Katie will again team-up with Matt Piercy Racing to run the Late Model Stock at various tracks in the North Carolina area. She will also join Highland Motorsports and crew chief Josh Reeves to run the full Carolina Pro Late Model Series schedule and select Pro Late Model races throughout the year.
When she is not at the track, Katie is an active high school freshman, in Michigan. She plays varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, runs tracks and enjoys the outdoors. You can often find her hunting, fishing, and taking care of her Hereford cow, Hickory, in her off-time.
